‘RECOVERING YOU’
A three-month, 1:1 coaching journey for anyone who is ready to build a life they don’t need to escape from.
with nationally board certified Health and Wellness Coach
Whitney L. Combs, PA, NBHWC
Whitney is a dream coach. She creates a judgment-free zone, does her homework and remembers things specific to me every time we meet. My mental health is SO much better - I generally feel more confident because of our talks, and now have tips and tricks to make it easier. Before I met with her, I looked at no drinking as a chore, and something I would feel socially awkward about forever. Whitney helped me to feel confident about all of it.

What if you could confidently build a life that you don’t need to drink to escape from?
✓ No more telling yourself today will be different just to find yourself pouring “just one” glass of chardonnay come 5pm?
✓ No more waking up 2am panicked about what you might have said or done after that “one glass” turned into a bottle (or more)?
✓ No more reaching for the Advil and tums first thing to shake off the night before?
There is a better way…
‘Recovering You’ will give you the support and accountability you need to feel empowered and successful on your road to an alcohol-free life.
Hi, I’m Whitney Combs!
I’m a board certified health and wellness coach with years of experience helping women just like you craft a rock-solid recovery plan to get on track toward a fun and meaningful life without alcohol.
I spent years in an incredibly dysfunctional relationship with alcohol.
But, on the inside, I was dying…
I told myself every morning that tonight would be different only to find myself reaching for the wine at 5pm.
I had no “off switch”. Night after night I promised that I’d stop at 2 glasses only to find myself stumbling to bed with what remained of a second bottle.
I spent my mornings, with my head in my hands, wearily trying to piece together events from the night before based on the texts, calls and embarrassing photos on my phone.
I told myself over and over again that I didn’t need to stop drinking because I hadn’t hit “rock bottom”
On the outside, I had it all together…
I was a successful professor in a masters level physician assistant program
I had a strong, loving marriage
I juggled school and extracurricular activities for 4 young children beautifully
I cycled, did yoga and fueled my body with nutritious food, supplements and green juices
I spent the better part of 2016 trying to moderate.
I tried every rule in the book (you know the ones—only drink on weekends, have a glass of water between drinks, stick to one kind of alcohol). But the moment I had that first drink, every rule went out the window.
I took 10, 15, or 30-day breaks, convinced that this time would be different. But each break ended the same way—slipping right back into the drinking patterns I was so desperate to disrupt. My mind was consumed with drinking: thinking about it, doing it, or recovering from it.
By January of 2017, I knew moderation wasn’t working for me. I was exhausted. I was ready to stop. But I had no idea where to start.
I found a group coaching program designed to help people renegotiate their relationship with alcohol, and I threw myself into it. I read all the quit lit, listened to all the podcasts, drank all the tea, smelled all the essential oils, and ate all the dark chocolate. I started meditating and journaling, going to bed on time, and carving out quiet mornings before the house woke up. I explored creativity, tried tarot cards, and added gentle movement to my routine.
But the truth? I still felt like I was figuring it out alone.
I needed someone to meet me where I was, to help me navigate the messy middle, to hold space for the doubts, the slip-ups, and the big emotions. I needed someone to remind me I wasn’t failing—someone who truly understood what it took to break free.
That’s why I became a recovery coach. Because this journey is so much easier with 1:1 support, encouragement, and accountability.
I created Recovering You to be exactly what I needed back then—personalized, non-judgmental support to help you build a life you don’t need to escape from. Because you don’t have to do this alone

A personalized plan for renegotiating your relationship with alcohol because this isn’t a “one size fits all” kind of thing.
From the start, I felt very heard and seen by Whitney. I never felt like she was trying to apply a "1 size fits all" approach, but rather came to our work together with a set of strategies and tools and with an open mind to really understand me, my journey and help me navigate the steps that were right for me at any given moment along the way. She helped me reach new levels of clarity around my "why" and around some of the associations I have had with alcohol which helped accelerate my ability to unravel and move forward with grace.

I wish it worked that way, but the truth is—I can’t do the work for you. What I can do is help you design a plan that actually fits you—your life, your needs, your values. I’ll be there to guide you, challenge you, and support you every step of the way. But at the end of the day, your success comes from your commitment to doing the work.

Not at all. If you’re here, something in you is telling you that alcohol isn’t working for you anymore. Maybe you’re scared to say “I’m done” or unsure if you even want to be done. That’s okay. This program is about helping you find clarity—without judgment, without pressure.
-
You’ve probably tried doing this alone before. This time, you won’t be. You’ll have personalized support, accountability, and a plan designed specifically for you—not a one-size-fits-all approach. This isn’t about perfection. It’s about progress, about learning what works for you, and about building a life that makes alcohol feel unnecessary.
The most profound way you can change your life isn’t through more willpower…
It’s by creating a life you don’t need to escape from.
Because being stuck in the exhausting cycle of stopping and starting keeps you from finally feeling free.
And the endless advice in quit lit, sobriety podcasts and sober Instagram accounts doesn’t help.
That’s why personalized support matters. Because willpower alone won’t get you there. A recovery journey that aligns with your needs, your values and your life is the only way to break free from drinking for good.
Which leaves you with a few choices…
You can keep trying to piece together advice from books, podcasts, and influencers—hoping something finally sticks this time.
You can keep white-knuckling it, swearing this is the last ‘one more time,’ only to find yourself hungover, frustrated and exhausted.
Or…
You can follow a clear, supportive path designed just for you—a no-shame, no-judgment approach that gives you the tools, guidance, and confidence to step into the alcohol-free life you know you deserve.
If you’re ready to stop overthinking and start taking real, supported action toward the life you want—
I can’t wait to help you make it happen!
